Undebacled?

 

Okay, so looks like Unity have backed down somewhat from the changes they'd proposed.

I've not really had a chance to go through it all yet, but I'm seeing a mostly mixed response from the community, with some (understandable, in my opinion) distrust that similar things won't happen in the future, given that the leadership hasn't changed. There are still a lot of questions around tracking installs and the like, too.

I'll have a look at the details when I can, but regardless of the policy changes, I think it's going to be hard to win back previous levels of community support, especially with no real changes to the leadership that has shown itself to be so out of touch with the users.
